February 23, 2008 | XP2 (serie)(XP2) Utrecht, The Netherlands. So I finally got my first roll of XP2, and actually my first roll of XP2 ever. I had shot a lot of Agfapan 100 and 400 in my days of home developing with Rodinal, but I had no experience with chromogenic b/w film so far. The results are, well, quite amazing! This film is really good. I cannot really tell until I make a proper paper copy, but from the negs and the scan I have the feeling that the film delivers a very good resolution, with fine grain and smooth tonal transitions. Pretty amazed by the tonal range, too. Well, thats what everybody else says, but I just have the feeling that the results are much better than my earlier attempts with Agfapan and Rodinal (I'm not saying that was a bad combo, probably my skills had a lot to do!). This are just some of the exposures, all shot in Utrecht during one of these sunny days of last week. Ah, I forgot to say, I shot at 200ASA all the time due to the good lighting, I guess that added to the smooth quality of the grain. Data: Images taken: 18.01.2008 Camera: Leica CL Film: Ilford XP2 @ 200ASA Lens: Summicron-c 2/40mm Exposure: between f/8 and f/11, except for the first one which was at about f/4 if I remember well Categories: photo series , street , the netherlands Permalink: http://blog.santiagobegueria.net/archives/2008/02/23/index.html#000260
