April 12, 2005 | Glamour girl, mountain boyI wish I could take those amazing subway photos you see on certain blogs, buy I always get nervous when shooting people. What do you guys do? do you hide your intention of taking a picture and act like a papparazzo (what I personally don't like), or else you show it clearly and take the photo with your best smile? Anyway, this is another shot from Berlin two weeks ago, and if I don't manage to find some peace and spare time to go out shooting maybe this is going sabbattical for some days.. Categories: people Permalink: http://blog.santiagobegueria.net/archives/2005/04/12/index.html#000078 (13.04.2005) : I have the same problem that you have...I don´t know how to approach people...Maybe the best thing is to be natural and just shot..after the shot you deal with the person...: ) i don´t like hidden or "stolen" shots....Show your intention for me is the best way to get the photograph.... I like this one...The contrast between these two different person and the distance between them...nobody talking to each other...nice urban feeling... (13.04.2005) : Nice...can definitely see the repel force between the two! (14.04.2005) : Wow, nice pictures in your blog. (14.04.2005) : You did a good job here but I totally understand what you mean... (15.04.2005) : That's the big city, many individual worlds that will never touch... thank you all for the comments! (15.04.2005) : Great catch to notice the difference between the two -- great pairing. (23.04.2005) : i like this tone very much! (01.05.2005) : fitting title!

my favorite thing about this picture is the how the lighting on the girl's hand doesn't match her face. her hand looks sickly, while her face looks healthy. nice capture. as for the photographing people. its really hard to do that where i'm from cause everybody treats a person with a camera like a terrorist. cops watch you and if you look at all suspicious they question you, regardless of where you are and what you're doing. i just stay clear of portraits of people i dont know, which sucks cause they're my favorite. keep up the good work!
